Too hot for comfort…while this well-established home had a grand pool & patio, there was really no place to get away from the hot Georgia sun. A copper-clad porch roof was designed to fit perfectly in the horseshoe shape between the two wings of the home. Now with the canopy in place, there was adequate cover overhead in which to insert a floor-to-ceiling iron wall of windows/doors between the new covered porch and Living Room. Infrared ceiling heaters were added to make the Lanai more comfortable during the cooler months, and a new limestone-clad wood-burning fireplace was added on the patio for additional outdoor entertaining space. The former pool gave way to a fresher contemporary pool design with a center cube-shaped hot-tub. The infinity edge along the back of the pool created an enhanced view of the professionally landscaped surroundings. As part of this project, we remodeled the front entry to the house by adding a limestone surround and new lighting fixtures.
