Springtime to Harvest Porch Living

The objective here was to create a back porch that functioned much like an interior room, complete with comfortable seating and durable outdoor rugs and accessories; a gracious extension of living space; a room that encourages leisure time and easy conversation. Our aim was to make it comfortable for extended use from early Spring right on through to those chilly Autumn days.

New 400 sf screened porch addition with attached open-air grilling porch and terraced stairs to the lower level. This addition boasts western red cedar posts and beams with exposed rafters and cedar T & G roof deck – a stacked stone fireplace and columns – dark bronze standing seam roof – high-visibility screening – Ipe T & G decking – a flagstone patio and dry stone riverbed with professional landscaping.

Decked out for dining and casual entertaining, this lived-in back porch overlooks a wooded backyard. Dinner music provided courtesy of the chirping birds and gentle breezes that rustle through the trees. The metal roof and vaulted ceiling overhead make any light rain a delightful addition to the chorus of sounds. The materials used throughout: the wicker furniture comprised of resin, and the outdoor fabric covered cushions help keep the space Low-Maintenance.
