When the decision was finally made to remodel the upper level of their Bungalow, our clients were thinking of several little changes, that when all put together – really added up!
A prior “pop-the-top” remodel left them with a chopped up floor plan and low, clipped ceilings. The traffic flow in and out of the bathroom was congested, and the Master Closet spaces were narrow and dimly lit.
Armed with a good set of plans and a strong construction budget, we set about making over the entire upper level. The new double vanities and separate walk-in closet keeps mornings and evening routines running smoothly. New his/hers vanities have ample storage underneath, and plentiful linen and toiletry storage was integrated into the towers that were outfitted with Rev-a-shelf columnar pullouts. The colors, textures and materials used throughout the bathroom keep it interesting and add to that polished look.
A new bi-parting pocket door with frosted glass panels separates the master closet from the bathroom, allowing more light to migrate between spaces.
A sola-tube located above the shower insures plenty of natural light to keep the room bright. Calacatta gold tile adds to the feeling of luxury and elegance while an iridescent tile was used on the rear wall of the shower and above the vanities for its’ sparkle effect.
The Laundry is camouflaged behind doors with inset pierced-metal panels.
